The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources announced the return of its Virginia Elk Experience Sweepstakes. The contest will award two prize packages in 2024 that include accommodations, a guided elk tour and subscriptions to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Bugle magazine, among other things.

There is no limit to how many times participants may enter but they must be 18 years of age or older to win. The deadline to enter is June 10, 2024.

All funding goes to support elk habitat and management. Last year’s sweepstakes generated close to $78,000 for conservation.

Since 1993, RMEF and its partners completed 87 conservation and hunting heritage outreach projects in Virginia, including the successful restoration of elk, with a combined value of more than $2.4 million. These projects conserved or enhanced 7,616 acres of habitat and opened or improved public access to 576 acres.
